Do you ever feel like you just need to create something, and fast? Last night, I didn't want to go to bed, but it had been over a week since I'd even been able to consider doing something creative, so I told myself that I could make something, as long as it would be finished and cleaned up by the time I went to sleep.
So...
I refashioned a t-shirt that I've had for almost a year but never actually worn. I'm a big fan of cardigans and layering, but sweaters don't necessarily work well in the summer, especially for me, because I'm always warm. I took the t-shirt and cut it down the center to make a little t-cardi. Then, I took some lace that I've been hiding away (or completely forgot about) and measured out two strips that would fit the length of the shirt. Then, because the lace was way too wide, I cut it in half. For this re-do, I used the scalloped edge and tucked the scraps into a jar for later. Finally, as simple as can be, I pinned the lace strips to the shirt and sewed them together. Presto! A cute little flouncy summer t-cardi with a dash of lacey whimsy, all completed within an hour.

love how you altered it
